Kate Anderson PhotographyUpon returning from a week-long service immersion to Granada, Nicaragua, one student decided to use her passion to make an impact on the lives of the people she met.
Kate Anderson, a senior at Regis Jesuit High School in Colorado, is using her love of photography to advocate and raise funds for the families with whom she connected while in Nicaragua. In fact, she recently hosted a photography exhibit at the Davis Studio in Denver selling photos from her service immersion. In one night, Kate raised $1,500.00 for the families living in Granada and spread the word about their conditions of poverty.
“I want people to understand how people live outside the American comfort bubble. Nicaragua made me more mindful and socially responsible. I think about the people I met there on a daily basis,” said Kate when we asked her why she decided to take on this project.
