Early this year, Executive Director Oscar Dussan and longtime International Samaritan friend and supporter Judge Terrence Bronson met in England with representatives from Health Poverty Action, a London-based humanitarian organization. Discussions included possible collaborations with I.S. to serve garbage dump populations in Ethiopia, Laos, and Cambodia.
Following the meeting, Health Poverty Action representative accompanied Oscar to Ethiopia to continue the feasibility study HPA began in 2011. While in the capital, Addis Ababa, Oscar accepted HPA’s invitation to visit the city’s garbage dump area, known as the Korah, to witness the poverty of those living and working there.
We hope our partnership with Health Poverty action will soon begin to alleviate the suffering of garbage dump dwellers in these far-flung lands.
