Want a peek at International Samaritan’s headquarters? An article and video in today’s Ann Arbor Journal gives viewers a look at the inner-workings of our mission. Go to the Ann Arbor Journal to view the article and videos.

In the two videos, Executive Director Oscar Dussan gives a tour of our office and introduction to the staff, while Founder and President Father Don Vettese describes what motivates him to continue working for the voiceless and chronically poor garbage dump dwellers.

In the article, reporter Michelle Pafford Helms outlines our poverty relief programs in garbage dump communities across the globe, as well as our service learning trips. Helms interviewed volunteer and Ann Arbor native, Bart Thompson, about his upcoming Bike-a-Thon to raise money for our school lunch program in Honduras. She also interviewed Ann Arbor resident and I.S. volunteer Rita Kieras. Kieras recalled a woman she met on one of her trips, a medical mission, who thanked her for eyeglasses and told her, “I’ve been praying to be able to see.”
